How software and network security can keep systems and data secure?
Use of VPN's
A VPN is a Virtual Private Network in which it will allow the user to create a connection to a network over the use of the internet. This also means that if any website was not allowed to be accessed on a standard network, a VPN would allow that particular website to be accessed. A VPN is also able to shield any activity that you be doing on a public network and will also keep prying eyes from seeing that browsing history. In simple terms a VPN will effectively forward all of the network traffic to the network that you are on. This part of a VPN tends to bring out the benefits of a VPN, it would typically be on the same tracks as accessing any local network resources.
The way that this would help keep data secure is that if a user from any organisation is using a VPN then they would be protected should they be using a public network to view that particular data and also that no one woul be able to see what the user has been viewing.
