Software Updating is where each piece of software that are on the users computer or even on the netework than it means that the software that is used on the computer or the network will automatically be updated when they have expired. This applies to all software packages whether the user has paid for them or whether theyy have come with the PC/Network.

 

The reason why this could help data be more secure is that the organisation may havecertain software that has expired ad that they do not have it for automatic updating. This then means thatwhen the software has been updated than it will protect the data more than what it would if the software was to expire.
